Error 1008 indicates that the mopping-pad actuator stalled and the robot could not move the pad arm as expected.

First checks

Reboot the robot, move it to an open area and make sure nothing is resting on top of the pad arm or blocking its movement. Press the robot button to resume. On Combo j7+/j9+, docking the robot can allow the pad arm to retract automatically after a few minutes.
